CraftBoston Assistant / Internship

As part of PIVOT (Programmatic Interns and Volunteers Organized Together), the Society of Arts + Crafts seeks a CraftBoston Assistant/Intern. The dual mission of the Society is to encourage the creation, collection, and promotion of the work of contemporary craft artists and to advance public appreciation of fine craft. The CraftBoston Internship Program was developed in 2001 to provide internships to undergraduate and graduate students seeking to learn about and contribute to the exciting field of contemporary crafts. The internship has a shared focus between event planning, artist relations and arts administration, allowing the intern to gain valuable experience in preparation for entry into today’s competitive job market.

Education and Programming Intern

Society of Arts and Crafts, the oldest craft non-profit in the United States, seeks a graduate-level intern to assist with gallery education and public programs. The dual mission of SAC is to encourage the creation, collection, and promotion of the work of contemporary craft artists and to advance public appreciation of fine craft. SAC fulfills its mission through exhibitions, the twice-annual CraftBoston craft show, a retail gallery, public programs, and awards and grants for craft artists. After more than 40 successful years on Newbury Street, SAC is moving to 100 Pier 4 in the Seaport in July 2016 and is expanding its programming capacity.

Exhibitions Volunteer/Intern

As part of PIVOT (Programmatic Interns and Volunteers Organized Together),the Curatorial Department at the Society of Arts and Crafts seeks an exhibitions volunteer/intern to assist the Assistant Curator with exhibition duties.

Marketing Intern

As part of PIVOT (Programmatic Interns and Volunteers Organized Together), the Society of Arts and Crafts seeks a motivated Marketing and Communications Intern. The dual mission of the Society is to encourage the creation, collection, and promotion of the work of contemporary craft artists and to advance public appreciation of fine craft. The Marketing Internship Program was developed in 2011 to provide internships to undergraduate and graduate students seeking to learn about and contribute to the exciting field of contemporary crafts, while simultaneously gaining valuable experience in preparation for entry into today’s competitive job market.
