Linda Huey: Dark Garden

May 9 - July 21, 2019

Linda Huey: Dark Garden is a large-scale ceramic installation discussing environmental concerns by way of a traditional garden landscape display. Dark Garden viewers will come across pleasant finds like sprites and trolls, as well as detritus hidden among its ceramic petals and leaves. Flowers struggle to hold up nuts and bolts, and chemical formulas are etched onto leaves and stamen in this rustically handsome yet foreboding exhibition. Huey’s work challenges the expectations of the ceramics medium and underscores urgent conversations about the environment and the future of the planet.
